Bake Sale Is Sunday At Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a bake sale from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. tomorrow in the Fellowship Hall. Proceeds from this Valentine's goodies bake sale will go to the food pantry to benefit the many that they feed each week.

They also need plastic bags and banana boxes, plus they need any other collected food stuffs. They spend more than $400 each week for the needed food stuffs. And last year, there were 66 boxes sent overseas. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

Mark your calendars - Lent is starting at the end of this month - on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 25, two churches in town will hold fish dinners. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 4:30 p.m. and also at St. Mary Catholic Church at 5 p.m. Details and cost to follow.

New Year, new beginnings? Why don't some of you new residents get acquainted by stopping by at the monthly Masaryktown Council meetings which are held at the Community Hall the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Stop by and say "Hello."

Virginia Ver had a short but very enjoyable visit with her brother Al Castillo and his stepdaughter Marilyn Santiesteban and her fiance Samuel Pena, all from Fort Lauderdale. They stopped by to say hi, as they were heading to Tampa to enjoy last weekend's festivities and the Super Bowl.

George and Diana Rodriguez were in Atlanta, Ga. last month at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart for a 10-day trip. George, of Rogers' Christmas House, was purchasing new and wondrous merchandise for Valentine's Day, Easter, and Christmas.

Sympathies to the Polansky family on the death of 95-year-old Mary Polansky. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., then the family moved to the old country in Russia, where Mary lived for several years with her late husband, George, who was a contractor, built many homes around here. Mary leaves daughter Mary Delores (Dee-Dee) Justice of Lakeland, Patricia Ann and hubby George Allen of Spring Hill and son George Polansky, wife Linda of Valley City, Ohio, where she died on Jan. 18. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
