Sheriff's Helicopter Spots Suspects
SPRING HILL - The sheriff's helicopter caught three men prowling a Spring Hill neighborhood as it patrolled early Wednesday morning.
It was shortly after midnight when the pilot reported to deputies below there were three men hiding behind a house on Landover Boulevard, near Candler Street.
The men began running southbound when they spotted the helicopter and hid in the wooded lot on the northwest corner of Candler and Exmore streets. Deputies caught them as they walked out of the woods. The suspects told them they were prowling the streets looking for a vehicle to siphon gas from, a report states.
Deputies recovered two gas cans and a hose the suspects had stashed, but the trio insisted they had not actually siphoned any gas or touched a vehicle. Matthew Beauregard, 18, Sonny Hall, 18, and Jordan Slater, 19, were each arrested on a charge of loitering or prowling.
