Sweetheart Dance Is Friday, Feb. 13

The Masaryktown Sweetheart Dance is on Friday, Feb. 13, from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Masaryktown Community Hall on Lincoln Avenue. "Decades of Tunes" for your listening and dancing pleasure, will be provided by disc jockey Phil as well as requests taken. BYOB, with setups and snacks available, as well as a professional photographer will be on hand for any "Kodak moments."

The tickets are $5 per person and are limited. For information or ticket purchases, call Becky at 352-397-3758 or buy tickets at the Masaryktown Post Office.

A big thank you to all who came and helped clean the Community Hall. Stand by, next to need your assistance is the library; date and time to follow. It wouldn't hurt if a few others showed up, all extra hands help. You all say it's a nice place to live, so come on down and get involved in your community, as you can also be a big help by helping your community bingo games.

On Feb. 18, First Baptist Church of Masaryktown has the pleasure of introducing the Toney Brothers celebrating 50 years of Gospel music. Very well known, and travel a lot, they do almost 250 concerts a year and have played with The Oak Ridge Boys, The Speers Family, The Cathedrals, and Bill Gaithers Homecoming Shows. The program starts at 7 p.m.

It's that time of year again - the RVs are back at the airport again. Harmony House Restaurant will be open this Monday from noon to 8 p.m., and the rest of the week 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

They have a special menu for Valentine's Day and special desserts from the Harmony bakery and a new wine has been introduced - Tamaioasa-Romaneasca - it is a fine, sweet wine. They now carry a fine line of authentic Murano hand-blown glass jewelry from Tommasi in Venice, Italy. Each piece comes with a certificate. Get well wishes go out to John Grotto, who is the son of JoAnn Grotto, the secretary of St. Mary Catholic Church. He is in Spring Hill Regional Hospital.

At Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, they are collecting for their mission for Haiti. Items such as Similac Advance with Iron infant formula, cough drops, cold and flu medicine for adults and children, sinus medication, antibiotic ointment, Tylenol, any size adhesive bandages, vitamins for children and adults, Imodium, antacids, moisturizing lotion, and don't forget stuff for our troops while you're there.
