Floral City man faces 40 charges in sex case

FLORAL CITY - A 66-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on allegations he sexually assaulted two young girls, deputies said.
Thomas A. Ellis, of 11705 S. Pleasant Grove Road, was charged with 40 counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child younger than 12 years old.
A Hernando County Sheriff's detective initiated a call between Ellis and one of the victims, during which he admitted to the charges, according to an arrest affidavit.
The victims are now 20 and 18 years old, respectively. They were between the ages of 5 and 10 when the crimes occurred, authorities said.
