YMCA to host Sept. 11 Run to Remember

SPRING HILL - Hernando County Family YMCA will host its ninth annual Run to Remember Friday, Sept. 11, at the YMCA located at 1300 Mariner Blvd. The 5K memorial Run (or one-mile walk) will begin at 6:30 a.m., followed by a continental breakfast at the YMCA. Everyone is invited to participate or attend as a spectator to remember all those who lost their lives in the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. The event will feature guest speaker Sheriff Richard Nugent; singing by Melissa Bears and Edrease Stephenson; Springstead High School Color Guard; and Laura De Witt, YMCA board member and triathlete, will lead the runners from the YMCA into the Seven Hills subdivision. Spring Hill Fire Rescue will follow all racers to the finish line. The event is free of charge and will be conducted rain or shine. T-shirts will be available at a cost of $5 each.
