Craigslist sex ad leads to drug charges in Hernando

SPRING HILL - A woman advertising sexual services on Craigslist.com was arrested on drug charges Tuesday, deputies say.

An anonymous tip, confirmed through the Web site, led deputies to the Quality Inn on Commercial Way, to find a woman named Angel. They knocked on the door provided by the tip and were met by Christine Koenig, 30.

Koenig reportedly admitted that she had lived in the hotel for a week and committed sex acts with three men in exchange for cash. A search of her room turned up prescription pills, which Koenig was melting to inject into her body, a report states.

Koenig was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

There was no prostitution charge because a misdemeanor offense must occur in the presence of an officer, a sheriff's spokeswoman said.

Craigslist.com offers free online classified advertising for services and goods; after law enforcement complaints that it was used for prostitution, the company made some changes to its "adult services" section.

A man in Boston is being held on charges that he killed a prostitute he found on the Web site.
