SPRING HILL - The fire commissioner who cast the lone dissenting vote last month for a tangible personal property tax on local businesses wants to discuss it again Wednesday.
The issue was dropped after it was reported in local newspapers and led to complaints from county officials and business owners. Spring Hill Fire Commissioner Rob Giammarco, who said he was incensed by the vote, said he plans to bring it up again during the next public board meeting.
A tangible personal property tax (TPP) would apply to certain businesses in the Spring Hill district with large quantities of equipment, fixtures and furniture. The tax also would apply to leased equipment. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at 3445 Bob Hartung Court in Spring Hill.
