BROOKSVILLE - A suspected drunk driver crashed into a fence Tuesday and fled on foot when his car got stuck in the sand, a report states.
Deputies found the suspect, Stephen Reardon, hiding in his backyard at 9798 Lake Drive, a few houses away from the scene of the crash, according to a report.
Reardon, 37, was extremely intoxicated and did not understand deputies' instructions for the field sobriety tests, a report states.
Reardon was arrested on charges of DUI, DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of an accident with damage and refusing to submit to a blood alcohol test.
