Membership Breakfast Meeting is Wednesday

BROOKSVILLE The April Membership Breakfast Meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 22. It will be held at Silverthorn Country Club, located at 4550 Golf Club Lane. The Membership Meeting will begin at 7:15 a.m. and is $12 for members and $20 for non-members. Stolte Eye Center and Optical Shop is the sponsor. The speaker will be Tom Barb, CEO with Hernando Pasco Hospice.

Business social will take place April 28

RIDGE MANOR The Chamber's April Business After Business Social will be sponsored by Eastside Development Committee. It will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28. Baskin-Robbins' 31 Cent Scoop Night is April 29

BROOKSVILLE One of nation's biggest ice cream chains is sweetening the spring season by hosting its third annual 31 Cent Scoop Night celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. April 29. During the event, the company will thank its customers by reducing the price of all 2.5 oz. ice cream scoops to 31 cents. As part of the celebration, Baskin-Robbins will make a $100,000 donation to the National Volunteer Fire Council's (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program. The local Baskin-Robbins locations are at 1185 S. Broad St. and 13179 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville, and 4471 Commercial Way and 11089 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill. Leadership Hernando application deadline is April 30

BROOKSVILLE Leadership Hernando is billed as "an interactive and comprehensive experience that challenges and educates participants about Hernando County." Organized by the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Hernando has been a part of the local community for the past 18 years, and has graduated more than 350 business leaders. The application acceptance deadline is April 30. The Selection Committee will be scheduling interviews shortly thereafter. Because the number of appointments to Leadership Hernando is limited, applicants who are not selected for this year's enrollment are still asked to reapply in subsequent years. The Leadership Hernando Alumni has provided two $250 partial scholarships that will be awarded to a nonprofit member of the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce. Doves to be released at Hudson Relay for Life

HUDSON A small covey of doves will be released during opening ceremonies of the Hudson Relay for Life in memory of those who have lost and those who have survived in the fight against cancer. The event will take place Friday, May 1. The cost of having a dove release in your loved one's name is $3 per name. Those participating also will receive a small memento of the release which can be picked up the night of the relay. Government Affairs Luncheon is May 13

BROOKSVILLE The next Government Affairs Luncheon will take place at noon Wednesday, May 13, at Silverthorn Country Club, located at 4550 Golf Club Lane. The event is organized by the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce. The guest speaker will be Jean Rags, director of Hernando County Health and Human Services. Brooksville Regional Hospital names Employee of the Year

BROOKSVILLE Robert Ingargiola, lead respiratory therapist at Brooksville Regional Hospital, recently was named Health Management Associates (HMA) Corporate Employee of the Year. HMA employs more than 33,000 people in 58 hospitals throughout the country. It awarded four people this year. Ingargiola started his career with HMA as a pharmacy technician. He began working in the Respiratory Therapy department in June 2000. He continued with his education obtaining certification in respiratory therapy and became a registered therapist in 2004. He was promoted to his current job in April 2008.
