MASARYKTOWN - Things will get really wild — old Wild West style — when the Masaryktown Activities Club presents "Bordello of the Damned," a murder mystery dinner theater set in the fictional Masaryktown Bordello and Saloon.
The show will be held 5 p.m., Sunday, April 26, at the Masaryktown Community Center, located at 539 Lincoln Ave.
This is a mature audience play, so it is advised patrons be 18 and older. The cost is $15 per person which includes the play, dinner and dessert.
There is a cash bar and doors will open at 4:30 p.m.
The special event is a fundraiser for replacing and rebuilding the Masaryktown playground, located on Lincoln Avenue.
Additionally, funds will be used toward the annual October Haunted House in Masaryktown, which has a real haunted house, scary monsters, games and candies.
This is the Masaryktown Activities Club's fourth mystery dinner play, cast with all volunteers. The plays have had great success in the past, and Becky Evans, one of the play's three directors, expects this year's production will be no different.
"This is a large cast and quite an undertaking," she said. "It's amazing how everyone just pitches in to get things done. The cast has been rehearsing and are looking forward to another fantastic night of fun and mystery."
This mystery dinner theater isset in the 1880s "old west" of Masaryktown. One of the town's respected citizens, Dotty Hayward, has died.
When Dotty's mysterious sister, Marti Damsel, shows up in town, things really get wild.
Tickets can be purchased at the Masaryktown Post Office located on U.S. 41,one-half mile north of the Hernando/Pasco county line. Post office hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is limited seating and no reservations.
Patrons are advised to wear their best 1880s costumes, as there will be a costume contest with prizes for both males and females. For more information, call Evans at 352-397-3758.
