Published: April 15, 2009

SPRING HILL - The fire district's ladder truck was out of commission for four days as mechanics had to fix more than $900 worth of damage, Chief Mike Rampino said.
Firefighters responded to a residential call last week. The hook along the edge of the ladder got stuck on the webbing and "put a crease in it," the chief said.

An inspection of the vehicle revealed no bent rungs or torn welds.

The ladder truck, which cost the Spring Hill Fire Rescue District more than $638,000, was fixed by mechanics in Bradenton, Rampino said.

It was returned to the station during the weekend.

The total cost for the repair and ensuing inspection was $1,190, Rampino said.
