BROOKSVILLE - The sheriff's office is calling its recent six-hour operation to dispose of prescription drugs a success.
Between the two drop off points at Wal-Marts in Spring Hill and Brooksville, 376 people turned in 3,904 bottles of prescription medicine.
The collection on March 28, dubbed Operation Medicine Cabinet, was intended as a way for folks to safely dispose of old prescription drugs. The sheriff's office's intent was cut off the supply for people who steal prescription drugs for the purpose of abusing them.
