Mario J. "Zack" Zaccaria, 88, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Sept. 26, at Hernando Care Center. He was born in North Bergen, N.J., and moved to the area 26 years ago from Elmwood Park, N.J.
Mr. Zaccaria served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a retired mechanic for the aircraft industry and a member of the VFW Post 10209 and American Legion Post 186.
Survivors include his son, Gary, of Decatur, Ga.; daughter, Catherine Paalvast, of Spring Hill; and three grandchildren.Arrangements by Turner Funeral Homes, Spring Hill Chapel.
Jimmie L. Thomas, 70, of Brooksville, died Friday, Sept. 26, at his home. He was born in Bradfort, Ky., and moved to the area five years ago from Virginia.
Mr. Thomas was a retired Sergeant Major with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Brigitte; mother, Rubina; daughters, April Johns and Kim Thomas; granddaughter, Lt. Amy Upton; sister, Sherry Payne; and two brothers, Billy and Donald.
