Name-Calling Is Not Too Smart

In regards to the letter from Mr. Garrett Hood's letter this past Tuesday in the Hernando Today, I wonder why people like him, Fran Earl and the other Democrats have to continue making personal attacks against McCain and Bush when writing.

I am talking about in Mr. Hood's case where he makes the statements "dumb as door knobs" and "silver-spooners with no idea where money comes from besides mommy and daddy's checkbooks".

I have a question for Mr. Hood: Where has your party been Mr. Hood for the past couple of years since they took control of Congress? We have been having a energy crisis and instead of staying in Washington D.C. to work on the problem, what did Pelosi and Reid do? Why, they called for a recess? How smart is that? As for the banking problems this country is facing, your party is in just as deep, what with Obama and Biden both taking in large donations from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. But that's OK isn't Mr. Hood?

As for Bush and McCain being silver-spooners, well I guess you forgot about Al Gore who never did anything without his late father's help and only got elected because of the family name.

As for them being dumb as door knobs, well, if Bush was so dumb, what does that say about Gore and Kerry not being able to beat him in both elections? Or the fact that McCain has made this current race so close when, by rights, the Democrats should be running away with this election. What does that say about the Obama Campaign Mr. Hood?

Of course Mr. Hood had to take a shot at Gov. Sarah Palin and her daughter - ending his letter with the line that if it was Obama's daughter who was pregnant: "the evangelicals would have burned her at the stake." What a bigoted mean statement for Mr. Hood to make! But, of course, I am not surprised by Mr. Hood's statements. After all, if you can't defend your candidates' positions, attack the other guy with name calling and outrageous statements.
