SPRING HILL - The Humane Society of the Nature Coast will hold its 5th annual Fur Ball at the Palace Grand, Saturday Sept. 13.
The event will feature live music by Cover to Cover, a special show by the 4 Non-Breeders and a silent auction. There will be a cocktail hour from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner. The silent auction will be held from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This year's Fur Ball will include a very special surprise guest appearance and their silent auction includes
•An autographed Tampa Bay Lightning Jersey,
•A ladies 14k yellow gold blue topaz ring,
•"Friendly Fire" print by local artist Leslie Newmann,
•"Men of the North", by Ken Laager,
•"Mountain Majesty," by Robert K. Abbett,
•"Canvasbacks on the Delta," by David A. Maass,
•A Craftsman 80th anniversary tool chest,
•An autographed photo of Anne Marie Lucas, star of TV's Animal Precinct,
•A 54-inch by 65-inch handmade cat/dog quilt w/ pillow,
•"Underground Railway" a quilted wall hanging,
•An autographed Tampa Bay Buccaneer mini helmet by Pro Bowl quarterback Jeff Garcia,
•A personalized pet portrait by local artist Diane Becker, just to name just a few auction items. Other items include a variety of pet gifts, personal pet portraits, pet training classes, pet sitting services, spa days, auto services, gift baskets and more.
Entertainment, dancing and door prizes will be featured. Sponsors of this event are Hernando Today, AT&T and the Humane Society.
The Humane Society of the Nature Coast is offering sponsorship opportunities to residents and businesses wanting to help the pets of the community.
In addition to housing and caring for homeless pets, the Humane Society operates the following programs: Safe Harbor 4 Pets, Humane Society Food Bank, Military Foster Home Program, an educational program, and Nursing Home and Assisted Living Pet Therapy.
Attire for the event is at the wearer's discretion, but attendees garb ranges from casual to formal wear. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased at the Humane Society's office or over the phone.
The Palace Grand is located at 275 Della Court, Spring Hill (north of County Line Road on U.S. 19). Proceeds from this event will go to benefit the homeless pets at the Humane Society of the Nature Coast.
