Incumbents Need
To Get A Real Job
To the voters for Hernando County commissioners, please let me remind you of some of the past actions of your current commissioners, who, once again, would like everything to remain status quo and retain their undeserving high salaries for their part-time positions. Oh, they would love to have you believe they are hard-working, full-time people who really care about you, but the facts would indicate otherwise.
When was the last time any of them had a real job?
Now is the time for you to let them get one, if they can, rather than living off the county while the rest struggle to get by. Find out firsthand what the real world is like and not from the friendly confines of the county commission chambers where everything from your salary to county benefits are handed to you on a silver platter.
Commissioner Diane Rowden, do you remember being that voice on the county commission who, when you were informed that the state would force each county to reduce its budget due to tax cuts, introduced the idea that the county commissioners should find a way around that and continue to charge higher taxes rather than complying with the state mandate? You should have been ashamed of trying to throw that burden on the people of Hernando County. Fortunately the other commissioners were more intelligent than you and quickly ignored that idea. You claim to be a champion of the people, but your actions have shown that you are not there in trying times such as these.
Chris Kingsley, there is not much to be said for you except that you were not qualified the first time you were on the commission and were voted off and are still not qualified the second time and you should be voted off again. What significant change have you brought to this county - the latest, Garth Coller contract, gee that was some accomplishment, especially when you could not even get that finalized. Maybe you are best known for the misuse of county funds in furthering your education. Do you not make enough as a county commissioner that you had to try and milk the county for more money for your own personal gain? Even if it were legal, which it is not, should you have tried to use county funds for something that only benefited you, rather than the people of Hernando County? As suggested for Diane Rowden, get a real job and use the money in any way you see fit.

Putting Dracula In
Charge Of Blood Bank
So on Nov. 4 Americans, if you can believe the polls, are going to take a capitalist republic that has given us a standard of living that is the envy of the world and you're going to throw it into the garbage heap of nation-states.
If you elect Sen. Barack Hussein Obama president, you will complete what the Soviet Empire couldn't - the socialization of America. The Arab states are also rooting for an Obama victory. That should tell you something when our sworn enemies are on Obama's side.
Look at the facts and if facts count for anything you will not do this thing. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the House, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the Senate and Obama and the executive branch will tear this nation apart. Obama's Joe the plumber statement "spread the wealth" was more aptly stated by Karl Marx in the Communist Manifesto, "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need." Is that what you want? The government running your life? States rights will become a thing of the past and you and your children will be at the beck and call of some nameless bureaucrat.
Taking all the money through taxes, tearing living humans from a mother's belly and crushing their heads, letting rouge terrorist states dictate what we need to do to keep them from bombing us, surrendering the Holy Land to Muslim thugs who think its their honor bound duty to slaughter innocents and other atrocities will be standard operating procedure for an Obama administration.
When you wake up Nov. 5 and you realize the insane thing you have done, pray that God will have mercy on your soul for destroying a great nation He has so blessed.
Ben Franklin was asked upon alighting from the Continental Congress "Sir, what have you done," to which Franklin replied, "we have given you a Republic, let us see if you can keep it." Unfortunately the answer after 219 years, 1789-2008 the year we ratified the Constitution, is no we have not.
As far as the economic problems we have today, do not be deceived. A bum in America has a better chance of living a decent whole life than a "middle class" laborer in China or Latin America for that matter. Sorry, Michael Moore, you're an idiot. It wasn't greed on Wall Street but stupidity in Congress that has put us where we are. Now you're thinking of turning the whole thing over to the reprobates who caused the problem in the first place. You're putting Dracula in charge of the blood bank.

Remember
Their Records
What is an important thing to remember when you go to the polls? How about history? I have saved and remember very well Michael Bates' articles regarding the spending habits of our county leaders. I also vividly remember the "Government Gone Wild" event as presented by Blaise Ingoglia. What I take great amusement in is the negative responses made by certain people in county government regarding both what Hernando Today had to say and also with respect to what Mr. Ingoglia told us.
What would you expect those to say who were at the helm when more than $230,000 was spent on an out house on a bike trail? The title of that article was precious, in case you missed it - "Royal Flush." If you are "well read" the examples have been endless.
In case you missed it, on the front page of The Tampa Tribune on Oct. 23, Florida has now beaten out California in foreclosure filings. We are now No. 2 in the nation with one out of every 178 housing units in Florida in some stage of foreclosure. What a sickening distinction!
Why do I mention this? Because in such times there are those who still receive raises while most others receive zip or don't even have jobs. This is because - you guessed it - our leaders in essence took it out of someone else's pocket from guess where? That's right, property taxes, which is another issue where our esteemed Florida Legislature has failed us miserably. So they finally passed portability. So what? So who is buying unless you're willing to accept a loss?
How you vote, hopefully, will be in accordance with who you feel is out of touch.

Change Needed
Hernando County needs change of all its county commissioners!
Just a reminder to all voters: Let us not forget how hard our current county commissioners have made it for us. Spend, spend, spend, that's all they love to do, and with our hard-earned money.
The one change needed most is to vote Diane Rowden out of office. She spends most of her time riding around with the cell phone glued to her ear. I have never passed that woman without her being on the phone and riding in the outside lane as if she owned it.
We need new blood because the old blood is now draining us and we, as taxpayers, have to bear the burden for the blood loss (their spending). New blood always makes you better. We can't do any worse than what we have now.
Vote with your head, not because of all the signs on the roadside, the mailings and the phone calls.
