BROOKSVILLE - It was time for the area's first cold air mass.
The current winds and clear skies are making conditions ideal for a cold front to drift over Hernando County and the rest of the Tampa region.
Last night, the low was 46 degrees. It will reach 41 tonight and get to as low as 35 Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperatures during the next few days will be in the 75 to 65 range, although it is expected to inch closer to 80 degrees toward the end of the week, according to TBO.com.
Each year, the first shot of cold autumn air usually comes toward the end of October.
