Recreation Dept. To Host Halloween Festival
BROOKSVILLE - Hernando County Recreation Department will host its annual Halloween Harvest Festival from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25, at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St. (U.S. 41). Haunted house, kids' games, face painting, hay ride, moonwalk, costume contest, pet masquerade, and food will be featured. Contests will be held as follows: Pet masquerade will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, with preregistration at 6:30 p.m.; and costume contest will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, with preregistration at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to the attractions will be as follows: $3 for haunted house; $2 for hay ride; and game tickets will be 4 for $1. General admission to the festival and parking are free of charge. Pumpkin Patch Program At Public Libraries

Hernando County Public Library System will offer Pumpkin Patch programs for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Stories, songs and trick-or-treating inside the library will be featured. Children are welcome to attend in costume, and trick-or-treat bags are recommended. Registration is not required.

Programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hernando County. The Pumpkin Patch Party will be held as follows:

•Thursday, Oct. 23, at Spring Hill Branch Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive. At 10 a.m. for toddlers 18-35 months old with caregiver, and at 11 a.m. for children 3-5 years old with caregiver. For information, call 352-540-6374.

Fall Festival To Be Held At Northcliffe Baptist Church

SPRING HILL - Northcliffe Baptist Church Children's Ministry will hold a Fall Festival from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the church located at 10515 Northcliffe Blvd. Carnival games, inflatable slides, snacks and candy will be featured.

SPCA To Present Howl-O-Dream Open House

BROOKSVILLE - SPCA of Hernando County will present its Howl-O-Dream open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the SPCA of Hernando County animal shelter located at 9075 Grant St., off Sunshine Grove Road. Pet costume contest will be featured along with Catch-Up The Clown, face painting, balloons, food vendors, 50-50 raffles, freebies, samples and give-a-ways.

Music will be provided by disc jockey Tommy T. Community vendors and sponsors, CPR Rescue, pet CPR, basic medical tips, and extended thrift store hours with special bargains will also be featured. Senior Citizens Club To Hold Halloween Dance And Dinner

Senior Citizens Club of Hernando County will hold a Halloween dance and dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the club located at 7925 Rhanbuoy Road. The cost is $15 per person. For more information, call the club at 352-596-1095.

Elks Lodge 2520 To Hold Halloween Costume Party

ARIPEKA - Elks Lodge 2520 will hold a Halloween costume party at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the lounge of the Lodge located at 9135 Denton Ave. There will be prizes for the best costumes. St. Andrew's To Feature 'Heroes Unmasked'

SPRING HILL - St. Andrew's Episcopal Church will feature "Heroes Unmasked" at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in Krysher Hall of the church located at 2301 Deltona Blvd. The carnival type event will include games, prizes, goodies, and face painting. Christian Life Assembly To Present Harvest Fest

SPRING HILL - Christian Life Assembly of God will present its annual Harvest Fest from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at the church located at 13065 Jacqueline Road. Games, inflatable activities, food, clowns, candy and prizes will be featured.

Masaryktown To Hold Children's Night On Halloween

MASARYKTOWN - Masaryktown Community Center will hold a haunted house and children's night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at the Center located at 539 Lincoln Ave. Haunted house, games and candies will be featured.
