Obama's Tax Plan:

Redistribute Wealth

In her recent column, Frances Earl states that outright lies were being said about Sen. Barack Obama. Of course, things like Obama being a Muslim or not being an American citizen are downright stupid, and I agree with her with as far as that.

But Obama has associated himself with the terrorist William Ayres, there is no mistaking that fact. There is nothing hateful about saying that Obama sat on a board with a man like Ayres, who in a 2002 radio interview openly admitted in being a Marxist and that he wished the terrorists had been able to do more damage on 9/11.

I would respect Obama more if he would be more open about his relationship with Ayres but, like most Democrats, Obama and Earl make excuses and blame people for bringing it up and throw out words like racist and bigot. There is nothing racist about it; it is all about the character of the man - character that to me is the most important thing about picking a president, something that liberals don't care about.

As for Obama's tax plan, he basically said it himself: redistribute wealth. In other words, he wants to play Robin Hood. I'm all for hitting the super wealthy for higher taxes, but what Obama wants to do will not create jobs. If anything, it will only compound the problem.

As for ACORN, according to the latest news reports, California is now investigating ACORN for voter fraud. Obama's close association with ACORN and the fact that ACORN him for president doesn't bother Earl at all. It certainly bothers me, and it should bother everyone else.

Feminists Support Palin

As a woman, I've found it upsetting to read and view the vicious, negative mainstream media coverage of Gov. Sarah Palin - even her family is not sacrosanct from the smears of MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc. in their efforts to denigrate her candidacy for vice president.

So it is comforting to know that some leading feminists are supporting Palin, because regardless of her choices as a woman, they are her choices and hers alone to make. Prameela Bartholomeusz and Lynn Rothschild are both members of the Democratic National Platform Committee, and support Palin. (Lynn Rothschild is a close friend and supporter of Hillary Clinton). Linda Klinge, vice president of the Oregon Chapter, and Shelly Mandell, president of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Organization of Women, have both endorsed Palin, as has Elaine Lafferty, former editor of Ms. magazine.

As these ladies say, they do not agree with Palin on every issue, but they believe she is a role model for today's women and a powerful voice for feminists who believe one's sex should never be a barrier to one's ambitions.

Vote Obama

The Republicans are now doing robo calls, spreading slime and lies only they can do so well. I also know the KKK is spreading its ilk too. And death threats now are against ACORN workers. What next?

Did you know Carl Rove's fellow henchmen are behind McCain's campaign? The same men, with Rove, destroyed McCain and his chances for becoming president back in 2000. They ran over McCain and the tire tracks are still there. Yet McCain thinks it's appropriate to use them now. Win baby, win; now matter how. But why not, he and Bush have had a hugging affair for years. (So politically smart for McCain.)

When the Republicans cry Democrats mean more taxes and to be fearful, it's a laugh as our country is in such debt and deep trouble. The '90s were financially wonderful for us under Clinton. Remember, this administration put $8.8 billion of cash on giant pallets (tons and tons of money) aboard military planes after the invasion of Bagdad, and the plane went to Bagdad. No one knows what happened to the money. How's that for stupid? It's been eight years of stupid.

And now, Colin Powell and journalist Fareed Zakaria support Obama. Conservative Christopher Buckley has, too. His father founded the National Review, and now has departed from the back page of the Review and I have read has caused a ripple of contempt from the right. Buckley pointed out in a blog, "eight years of conservatism have brought us a doubled national debt, ruinous expansion of entitlement programs, bridges to nowhere, poster boy Jack Abramoff and an ill-premised, ill-waged war conducted by politicians of breathtaking arrogance."

All you retirees, do you like the idea of McCain getting hold of our Social Security and Medicare? He's gritting his teeth to privatize and cut Medicare. I really like it as it is and the threat is scary to me. I don't have eight homes and 13 cars, nor am I married to someone that is worth a fortune.

I do believe McCain means four more Bush years. And why? As Joe Biden said, "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - it's a duck."
