Shooting Suspect Treated At Spring Hill

SPRING HILL - A possible suspect in a Shady Hills shooting that left one man dead Thursday morning was treated at Spring Hill Regional Hospital before being airlifted to a Tampa-area facility, a sheriff's spokesman said.
The suspect's name had not been released as of Thursday afternoon.
Two cousins, Cory L. Evans, 21, and Kenneth S. Evans, 25, both of Shady Hills, were shot shortly before 5 a.m. during a home invasion at 18236 Oxenham Ave., less than a mile south of County Line Road.
Cory Evans was fatally wounded. Kenneth Evans was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition was unavailable Thursday afternoon.
A third man who was shot was a "possible suspect" and was admitted to Spring Hill Regional Hospital, Kevin Doll, a spokesman with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, said Thursday. The hospital is located two miles from where shooting took place.
"He got to Spring Hill Regional somehow," Doll said.
No additional information was released Thursday on a possible motive or weapons used.
A relative at the scene told The Tampa Tribune that Evans had been shot in the head.
More than 20 people were standing along the street six hours after the shooting. Most of them were relatives.
Earlier that morning, deputies had to separate the media from those standing near the scene of the crime. A makeshift media post was set up using yellow crime scene tape. Neighbors were barred from crossing it.
"There were some scuffles between the media and family members," Doll said. "There has been an emotional reaction. Some of the ire was directed to the media."
Most of the people at the scene declined to speak to reporters.
The mobile home where the shooting took place is owned by Chuck S. Lamberton, according to property records. Doll said the man is an uncle of both Cory and Kenneth Evans.
He was not at home at the time of the incident. It was not known whether he lived at the residence.
Doll would not comment on a report that a handgun was found and brought to the crime scene shortly before 11 a.m.
