BROOKSVILLE - To promote use of THE Bus, county commissioners at their Tuesday meeting will discuss issuing complimentary one-day passes.
The current cost of a one-day pass is $1.50.
The promotion is part of Commuter Choices Week for Hernando County employees and residents. The goal is to encourage alternative modes of transportation for getting to work, including van pool, car pool, bicycling, walking and THE Bus.
Commissioners will discuss details at the meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.
Also at the meeting, commissioners will discuss awarding a $103,599 bid to J&J Equipment Inc. to do the underground fuel tank replacement at the sheriff's office.
Commissioners will also consider a purchase agreement for $155,325, the negotiated purchase of a parcel along Elgin Boulevard needed for road widening.
