Last week I was miffed at the elections office; this week I've crossed over into being just plain disgusted.
You see, last week I went to a movie with my sister. As we were sitting there eating our popcorn, an infomercial came on the screen with Annie Williams, larger than life, telling us that she was Supervisor of Elections and be sure to vote. I admit that she stopped short of telling us to vote for her, but the insinuation was blatant.
I felt like my tax dollars were paying for her campaign. And since the movie theater had less than a dozen people in it, for whatever she was advertising, it was a waste of money. My money; your money.
Now, this week I read that she sent yet another round of incorrect ballots out to voters. This time they weren't merely sample ballots, they were the real thing. You have got to be kidding! Of course, she says it wasn't her fault (as it never is), that the maps were wrong. Oh, give me a break! What excuse is she going to use for miscounting votes or misplacing ballots, if (when) it happens? This has just got to stop!
So, Ms. Williams, you've mis-handled, mis-mailed, mis-advertised, mis-printed for what I hope is the very last time. You'll be missing my vote!
