It did not surprise me to see a letter like the one written by Dallas Dunlap in which he basically blames the Republicans for wrecking the United States. After all, in the world of Dallas Dunlap, Frances Earl and Ted Rall, Republicans are evil and Democrats are the saviors of mankind.
Mr. Dunlap's later is typical of a Democrat: Take no blame for the problems this country faces and blame everyone else.
With all the columns written and with all the stories on television business programs stating how this problem began, for Mr. Dunlap to throw this all on Bush's lap is, in a word, incredible. He and those like him are so blinded by their ideology that they are not interested in the truth even when presented with it.
This current economic crisis began in part with the abuses of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and we all know who had reign over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - the Democrats. You had Democrats like U.S. Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Chris Dodd, who kept saying that there was nothing wrong with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and they blocked all attempts to reform these leaning companies. Even former President Clinton has said in a number of interviews that the Democrats blocked any attempts to reform or re-regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Even President Bush called for reform for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, but, again, the Democrats blocked any attempts to fix it.
Mr. Dunlap may not like to hear it, and he can continue to live in his little bubble believing the Republicans were solely responsible for this mess, but the truth states otherwise and the truth hurts.
