Cops vs. Kids Fundraiser set Nov. 20

BROOKSVILLE – A Cops vs. Kids fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Central High School gymnasium. The money that will be raised will go to the families of Summer Moll, Kaitlyn Harper, Jenna Moran and the Fox Chapel Middle School's Project Wisdom Program.
Fox Chapel Middle School students have chosen to play for Summer Moll.
Moll is a 4-year-old little girl who is recovering from a tragic DUI accident that took her mother's life last month on the Lee Roy Selmon Cross Town Express Way in Brandon.
In an effort to keep some of the proceeds local, we have invited West Hernando Middle School and Central High School to participate as they have also recently lost two of their students to vehicle accidents.
West Hernando students will play for Kaitlyn Sue Harper. Harper was hit by a truck and killed while at her bus stop on California Street earlier this school year.
Central High students will be playing for Jenna Moran. Moran was a student at CHS, who lost her life after being involved in a car crash while driving home from school on Hexam Road last month.
As in years past, the deputies will be playing to raise money for the Project Wisdom program at Fox Chapel Middle School. This program encourages kids to make positive choices every day. Kids that make a positive difference are nominated as the Project Wisdom Student of the Month and have an opportunity to attend a special event at the end of the school year.
All the proceeds from this event will be split between the four causes. The money for the three victims will go to assist the families with their financial needs as a result of their loved ones tragic accidents. The funds for Project Wisdom will go towards funding the end of the year special event.
For additional information, contact Deputy Wendy Tolbert at Fox Chapel at 797-7025.
