History Repeats Itself

The 2008 election was an historical event, for certain, but the GOP was just as certain to ensure history repeats itself.

In 1996, registered Republicans voiced their disdain with Bob Dole receiving the party nomination and many voted for Bill Clinton. The reason John McCain lost was for the same reason Dole lost in 1996. Registered Republicans said they would not vote for McCain.

It's really not that difficult or complicated. If the GOP wishes to rise to power again, give us someone to vote for.

Students Seeking Help

For Humane Society

I am writing to inform your readers about an important project students are doing at Fox Chapel Middle School. We are gathering supplies for the Humane Society of the Nature Coast. Our goal is to collect a six-month supply for the no-kill, no-time-limit shelter.

This is where you come in. We need people to donate supplies, including Pedigree Dog Food, Purina Puppy Chow, Purina Cat Chow, blankets, towels, bleach, chew toys, cat litter, etc. For a complete list of supplies, try visiting www.naturecoasthumanesociety.org.

The Humane Society really does make a difference. For example, "Pup" was a 9-month-old poodle that was dropped off at the shelter because he couldn't get along with other dogs in the home. Now, he lives with a new family in a new house that takes care of him.

Please support our project by dropping off supplies at the front office of Fox Chapel Middle School in Spring Hill or contact Mr. Haberlin at 797-7025, Ext. 252. We really appreciate it.

God Bless Bush

After reading the hateful letter written by Barbara Rice insulting President Bush, it is easy to see why Congress, which is controlled by the Democrats, has such a low approval rating - lower than Bush's approval rating.

Rice is the typical Bush-hater who has been crucifying Bush ever since he took office. They cried "foul" when Bush was elected in 2000 because of the recount and said he stole the election. Will we hear one word from the Bush-haters about the 2008 election with all the voter fraud and questionable campaign donations with regard to Obama?

On a positive note, my family and I want to thank President Bush for keeping us safe for the last seven years. The liberals refuse to give this man credit for the many good things he has done for the American people, but I believe history will reward Bush. He has been so courageous in tackling the world's terrorists and ignoring polls that tried to influence his decisions.

Bush is proud of our military and they are proud of him as their commander in chief. The men and women in our military have proven their loyalty to Bush by volunteering to return to the Middle East to fight the terrorists time and time again. I want to wish him well and hope that he and his family will have a wonderful new life away from all the politics and hate that he has had to endure these past eight years.

President Bush, we will miss you and God bless!

Fasano Thankful For Support

I would like to thank the residents of Senate District 11 for having faith in me and returning me to office as your state senator. For the past 14 years my staff and I have worked hard to earn your trust and believe that your vote of confidence expresses that we have succeeded. I am humbled by the responsibility you have given me. I look forward to serving you for another four years in Tallahassee.

Although we have accomplished many good things over the years, there are still many difficult problems to overcome. Taxation, property insurance and health care issues are just a few of the many topics I will continue to champion in Florida's Capitol. Please let me know what is important to you.

More than anything, I place constituent service as my office's top priority. If there is any issue relating to state government that you may need assistance with, please do not hesitate to call me. My numbers are locally at 727-848-5885 and toll-free at 1-800-948-5885. I and my staff stand ready to help.

Once again, thank you for your support. I look forward to working with you to do good things for our community.

Mike Fasano

State Senator, District 11
