BROOKSVILLE - Authorities arrested four suspected drunk drivers this weekend, including a woman who reportedly crashed into a car while driving with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.

The collision happened around 8:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Cortez Boulevard and Barclay Avenue. A witness told deputies that Donna Housman, 47, was driving fast as she made a right turn on Barclay and crashed into another car, a report shows.

Deputies said they searched Housman's car and found a vodka bottle that was three-quarters empty, an unopened vodka bottle and a receipt for the alcohol with a time stamp of 5:30 p.m.
Housman was arrested on misdemeanor charges of DUI and DUI with property damage and taken to the county jail, where her blood alcohol content registered .271 and .273, a report shows. Florida law presumes intoxication at .08.

Also Friday, a Brooksville patrol officer was stopped at the intersection of N. Broad and E. Jefferson streets when he saw a pickup truck hit a car in the parking lot of Miss Kitty's Hilltop Lounge, a report shows. The pickup's driver, Kenneth Lewis, 46, of 7274 Conventry Court, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to the county jail where he reportedly blew a blood alcohol level of .170.

At about 3 a.m. Sunday, a deputy pulled over what he considered to be a reckless driver at Shoal Line Boulevard, just north of Osowaw Boulevard. A traffic deputy was requested to perform field sobriety tests on the suspect, David Lazzell, who had an "extreme" odor of alcohol coming from his person, a report states.

Lazzell, 66, volunteered that he had been "bar hopping" and admitted that he had drunk "a few beers and a couple too many drinks," a report states. Lazzell was taken to the county jail on suspicion of DUI, where he reportedly blew a blood alcohol level of .181 and .174.

On Monday, Brooksville police arrested an alleged red light runner at the intersection of Cortez and Candlelight boulevards. They report that the driver, Douglas E. Wargo, 52, of Zephyrhills, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to the county jail, where he blew a blood alcohol level of .128.
