Carol Newell, 82, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 30, at Oak Hill Hospital. She moved to this area 30 years ago from Tampa.
Mrs. Newell was a teacher, storyteller to children at festivals, contributed articles to various newspapers, active in Rotary functions and charitable organizations, a member of SERVAS, and a Baha'i by faith.
Survivors include her husband, William; a son, Martin Newell of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Debra Carver of Colorado; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Carol Mae Gibson, 60, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Nov. 2, at her home. She was born in Warren, Mich., and moved to this area 38 years ago from Michigan.
Ms. Gibson managed Alice's Restaurant in Brooksville for 30-plus years and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her mother, Alice Alsup of Brooksville; her companion, James Harris of Brooksville; a daughter, Rhonda Knauff of Floral City; two brothers, Jack Alsup of Tallahassee and John Alsup of Brooksville; and a grandson.

Irene Rose Thomas, 84, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday, Nov. 1, at Kindred Hospital, Tampa. She was born in Allentown, Pa., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Queens, N.Y.
Mrs. Thomas was a waitress/restaurant manager and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ted; a daughter, Cathy Cuchel of Tampa; two sisters, Christina Morelli of Middle Village, N.Y., and Helen Little of Ohio; two brothers, Michael Chakirelis and Harry Chakirelis; and a granddaughter.

Raymond David Pettit, 82, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 1, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Long Island, N.Y.
Mr. Pettit was a factory worker in the cosmetics industry and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Thea; a daughter, Kathleen Erikson of Holiday; and a sister, Dolores Montimorra of Hudson.

Bonnie Smith, 82, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 1, at her home. She was born in Haywood, W.Va., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Clearwater.
Mrs. Smith was a retired executive secretary and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two sons, Bob of Colorado and Barry of Brooksville; a daughter, Susanne Haumesser of Brooksville; a sister, Sara Gorby of West Virginia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Timothy R. Chaney, 51, of Brooksville, died Friday, Oct. 31, at his home. He was born in McConnellsburg, Pa., and moved to this area three years ago from Hudson.
Mr. Chaney was a semi-tractor trailer driver and a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; two daughters, Tina McCartney and Elaine Croan; two sons, Robert Bowling and Edward Bowling; his mother, Judy Van Es of Everett, Pa.; a sister, Trina; a brother, Scott Stone; and seven grandchildren.

Ingrid H. Brignoli, 88, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Nov. 3, at Hudson Hospice Care Center, Hudson. She was born in Center Moriches, N.Y., and moved to this area 10 years ago from Austin, Texas.
Mrs. Brignoli was a deputy commissioner of Senior Citizen Affairs for Nassau County, New York, and attended First United Methodist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Jim of Spring Hill and Chester of New York; a daughter, Rebekha Spector of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Johnny and Kenny; a sister, Libby Wiggins; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
