TAMPA - One month ago, the average gallon of gas cost $3.67.
Since then, it has dropped by $1.21.
Americans have continued to use far less gasoline than expected. The lack of demand has been a major factor in the sharp decline, according to AAA Auto Club South.
In the coming weeks, pump prices should continue to drop, but not at the same rate, forecasters said.
Florida's average for a gallon of regular, unleaded gas as of Sunday was $2.456 - two cents higher than the national average.
