Every spring we move our clocks ahead one hour, and every fall we move our clocks back one hour - an annual practice where we "spring forward, fall back." This year, we "fall back" at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
If you "hit the sack" before 2 a.m. tonight, simply set your clocks back an hour before going to bed. The Uniform Time Act, enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1966, established a system of uniform Daylight Saving Time throughout the U.S. and its possessions (until then, a hodgepodge of local laws and customs made it very confusing), exempting only those states whose legislatures voted to keep the entire state on standard time. Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Saving Time.
The Sunshine State does observe Daylight Saving Time, so remember to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed tonight, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
