BROOKSVILLE - Mary Alice Queiros may have handed over the reins of the City Hall Art Gallery, but she never left the local art scene.
Now her pen-and-ink drawings are on display at the Rising Sun Cafe in Brooksville, and a reception is planned to kick off the exhibit.
The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at the cafe, 10 S. Main St. Queiros will be on hand to talk about her pieces that capture scenes from throughout the county, from Bayport to downtown Brooksville. Coffee and appetizers will be served.
The one-woman show coincides with the 10th anniversary celebration of the City Hall Art Gallery, which Queiros founded to offer a public place for local artists to showcase their work. Queiros, who also serves as president of the Brooksville Mural Society, earned the Great Brooksvillian Award in 2005.
