Evil-Doers Are The Bushies

Published: May 21, 2008

President George W. Bush, not God, christened all those who do not agree with his beliefs and ideologies as "evil-doers" — not I. I have only redirected Bush's framing to those who truly deserve the title, as I have a very different way of defining those among us who fit that label.
Here are just a few of my reasons for labeling this administration evil-doers: Sending our troops into an illegal act of aggression against a foreign country; failing to arm our heroes with proper armor to protect them ; failing to provide even minimally healthy and safe quarters as our soldiers return to the states; failing to provide proper and expedient medical care and attempting to deny post traumatic stress disorders with bogus questions leading to a diagnosis of "alcoholism problem;" sending some 43,000 soldiers with their medical records reading "unfit for service" for yet another tour in Afghanistan; and ignoring the rising suicide rate in our armed forces.
Over and over we hear feigned surprise when a whistleblower, probably in desperation, brings forth the truth about all of the above. Remembering earlier days in this war, many of the soldiers' families were buying armored vests for their loved ones. When this came to light, the administration forbid them to continue doing so, but still did not supply this basic protection.
Ft. Bragg is not a "maintenance problem" but a total lack of regard for the safety and well-being of our soldiers, while AWOL Bush feels free to don a flak suit and parade on board a carrier playing soldier. Notice that blame is always given for these problems to those far down the chain of command — never to the guys appointed by Bush who are nothing more than toadies who keep the lies going as payment for their rise in status.
Despite having sold vast supplies of weapons to Israel, enriching our defense industry, no peace has been achieved. In fact, Israel, a country devoted to educational priority, is now failing to provide a good education to their young due to lack of money — money being spent instead on weaponry. For the first time in Israel's history, their education system, like ours, is being underfunded. Nobody denies that Israel is our ally in the Mideast, but our Congress should not vote for the benefit of Israel or any other foreign nation if it deprives our own country of needed money to fund our public schools and colleges, the proper care of our troops and our infrastructure.
U.S. Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite's support of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 (HR2642) — a bill sponsored by a Virginia Democrat — is too little too late after six years in office where she backed Bush's moral and economic degradation of this country time and again. I assume to look good she stepped up and co-sponsored this bill but last week voted against it. Even in an election year, all she cares about is voting as she is told by the Bushies. The heck with the troops!
Diplomacy, not war, brings solutions without death and destruction. There is no diplomatic talent or intent in the Bush Administration, but only a quest for world religious and economic domination.
Is it any wonder that George Bush, who failed more than once to achieve nothing but failure in his private business endeavors, has brought us to the point where so many have lost their jobs, where so many cannot now even afford the gas to search for new employment, where we all go to the supermarket and find the price of basics such as milk, bread, fruits and vegetables so high that we can no longer feed our families properly?
We have placed our economic stability in the hands of a man who has been bankrupt in both economic knowledge and morality, instead of putting our families' futures and, in turn, the honor and decency of this great country ahead of the strutting failures who claim to lead us. And Sen. John McCain and Bush stand and criticize Sen. Barack Obama because he sees diplomacy as the way to a secure and eminently safer course for our world.
Why are the Democrats supposed to offer solutions to the transgressions of those Republicans support? Or, is it merely acknowledging that the solutions will never come from these bogus leaders now in power, but will only come from the Democratic candidates who will step in to restore our country to its rightful place in the world?
Sounds like any solutions will come only from the Democratic Party.
