Many thanks to the Hernando Today for enlisting Doug Patton as a columnist to help us commoners understand what is important in our lives. Generally, most of us gullible citizens tend to be foolishly pre-occupied with such trivial matters as the domestic cost of living, foreign policy, health care and endless wars.
Only through these brilliant schoolyard level screeds of Patton can we understand that discussion of ideas is a waste of time and that we will accomplish much more pointing our fingers at ideologically chosen targets and call them as many names as possible. Most importantly, Patton makes it clear that we've all ignored the main prerequisite for president of the United States, which is making sure to always wear a flag pin.
In all seriousness, how can any editorial section that wishes to be considered legitimate have Patton's bile-spewing, hate-filled diatribes printed on their pages? I've never seen one of Patton's columns support anything, except a recent column in support of polygamist cults, and it is readily apparent that Patton does not stand for anything besides being divisive and hating half of his own countrymen.
We've all dealt with these types of people in our lives, those who point their ubiquitous fingers at others but truly have zero substance of their own. It is a shame that Hernando Today will continue to print the type of hatred of Americans coming from Patton, instead of replacing it with serious columnists discussing serious issues.

What part of "teaching hatred" do you not understand, SHCC. Lot's of things sell papers, fortunately most don't deserve to be printed. Why does preaching hate against your neighbor get a pass...
