Thomas E. Kubas, 79, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, May 10, at Brooksville Regional Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to the area in 1994 from Chicago.
Mr. Kubas was an executive chef for Marriott and the Hilton in New York and Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Spring Hill. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council in Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche; sons, Thomas, of Greensburg, Pa., and Richard, of New Milford, Conn.; daughter, Joyce, of Ft. Lauderdale; brothers, Stanley and Joseph, both of St. Albans, Vt., and Bruno Kramarz, of Fulton, N.Y.; sister, Helen Niemaltowski, of West Rutland, Vt.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Ruth A. Valentine, 64, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, May 10. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mrs. Valentine was a retired food service worker for Hernando County and an organist for the Berean Assembly Church.
Survivors include her husband, William; son, William; daughter, Debra; brother, Michael; and eight grandchildren.
