Hernando County Public Library System will offer the following programs:

Book Discussion group will hold its monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Main Branch Library located at 238 Howell Ave., Brooksville. The group will discuss "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugendies. Calliope Stephanides doesn't feel like the other girls her age. To understand why, she must uncover a guilty family secret and astonishing genetic history that stretches from a tiny village overlooking Mount Olympus at the beginning of the century to the Detroit race riots of 1967. Join the group for a lively discussion of the epic family saga. Registration is not required, but copies of the book are limited. Check out a copy at the Main Library to join the informal discussion. For more information, call 352-754-4043.

A class titled, "iBorrow: Requesting Interlibrary Loan Materials" will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the West Hernando Branch Library located at 6335 Blackbird Ave., off State Road 50, near Weeki Wachee. The class will teach attendees how to search for and order books from libraries outside of Hernando County. With "iBorrow," a new online application available to Hernando County Public Library patrons, you can request items and review the status of requests from any computer with Internet access. Registration is required to attend the free, one-hour class. To register or for more information, call the library program staff at 352-540-6391.

A workshop titled, "Writing Your Personal History" will be presented from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 4, at the Spring Hill Branch Library located at 9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill. The workshop will help participants with the task of putting their life experiences on paper. Tips and ideas will be offered on how to get started. This is not a genealogy class, but writing your personal history can be the first step in the genealogy process. Registration is required. For reservations or for more information, call the Reference Department at 352-540-6392.
