Roy Jimmy "Mac" McDaniel, 82, of Brooksville, died Monday, May 5, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Vinton, Va., and moved to this area 33 years ago from Seminole.
Mr. McDaniel retired from the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper, having served during World War II with the 101st Airborne. He was a life member of the American Legion, DAV, VFW and the NRA. He retired from Seminole Fire Department and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Marshall Lee McDaniel of Brooksville; four daughters, Kathy White of Starkville, Miss., Sharon Frazier and Jennifer McDaniel, both of Brooksville, and Alisa Brown of Crestview; two brothers, Gilbert of Vinton, Va., and Joseph of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; a sister, Betty Hunt of Hilton Head, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ruth Mackawgy-Fish, 82, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, May 4, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. She was born in Germany and moved to this area 18 years ago from Gastonia, N.C.
Mrs. Mackawgy-Fish was a blood bank technician and a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Ross Mackawgy of Redington Shores and Marc Mackawgy of Bogota, N.J.; a sister, Birgit Hein of Germany; and three grandchildren.

Philip J. Granger, 82, of Spring Hill, died Monday, May 5, at his home. He was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Ferndale, Mich.
Mr. Granger was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a radio man. He was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine; three daughters, Deborah Granger of Ferndale, Anne Green of Royal Oak, Mich., and Susan Loulikas of Tarpon Springs; three sons, Robert Granger of Madison Heights, Mich., Glenn Granger of Portland, Mich., and Eric Granger of White Lake, Mich.; a sister, Marion Dey of Palmetto; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Nancy E. Charnock, 53, of Brooksville, died Monday, May 5.
Mrs. Charnock was born in Duquoin, Ill., and moved to this area from St. Petersburg.
Survivors include her husband, Philip; a son, Raymond; a daughter, Sarah; her mother, Patricia; a brother, Steven; three sisters, Wanda, Susan and Deborah; and a granddaughter.

Marguerite Day, 91, of Spring Hill, died Monday, April 21, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. She was born in Belmont, N.Y., and moved to this area 25 years ago from Jamestown, N.Y.
Mrs. Day was a Lutheran by faith and attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Weilacher Sr. of Jamestown and Donald Weilacher Sr. of Frewsburg, N.Y.; a daughter, Elizabeth Storms of Spring Hill; a sister, Lottie Davis of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Gaetana Pitta, 75, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, April 26.
Ms. Pitta was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Finello of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rita Tramontano of Long Island, N.Y.; and seven nieces and nephews.

Joseph Vito Pitta, 76, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, April 30.
Mr. Pitta was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Pitta of Hadley, Mass.

Ignacia Santiago, 74, of Brooksville, died Sunday, May 4, at Ocala Regional Medical Center. She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this area 17 years ago from Hartford, Conn.
Mrs. Santiago was Pentecostal by faith.
Survivors include six daughters, Maria Diaz of Brooksville, Irma Claudio of Hartford, Clara Sanchez and Milagros Sanchez, both of Spring Hill, Carmen I. Sanchez of Orocovis, Puerto Rico, and Gregoria Rojas of Ocklawaha; four sons, Raul Sanchez and Pedro Sanchez, both of Hartford, Carmelo Sanchez of Brooksville and Demetrio Sanchez of Spring Hill; and 100-plus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arthur John Dethiefsen, 77, of Brooksville, died Monday, May 5, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. He was born in Glendale, Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Seaford, N.Y.
Mr. Dethiefsen worked as a warehouse man for produce and food. He was a Korean War U.S. Air Force veteran and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Dethiefsen and Donna Dellilo; and two sons, Jeffrey Dethiefsen and Gregory Dethiefsen.

Ruth C. Kaelin, 79, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, May 7, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., and moved to this area 26 years ago from Sayreville, N.J.
Mrs. Kaelin was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; three sons, Joseph Jr. of Limestone, Tenn., Scott of Parlin, N.J., and Robert of Brooksville; two daughters, Robin of Brooksville and Penny of Spring Hill; a brother, Roger of Brooksville; a sister, Margorie of Maryland; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
