BROOKSVILLE - A monthly party hosted by businesses on the city's west side and slated for today will also serve as a fundraiser for a woman who lost her home to a fire last weekend.
The businesses taking part in The Treasure Hunt on the Hill will accept donations for Kit Raymond, a Brooksville resident and advocate for the homeless who lost her own home and car in a fire last Saturday. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
Visitors pick up an entry form for the hunt at Easy Street Home Decor, at 838 Jefferson St., and go to nearby businesses to collect code words to submit to be eligible for a cash prize.
The other participating businesses are Mallie Kyla's Cafe, Rogers Christmas House, The White Daisy Salon and Spa, Westover's Flowers and Gifts, Peace Tree Trading, The Paper Porch, Coney Island Drive-In, Hale's Liquors and American Turf Equipment.
