SPRING HILL - A woman hoping to shoot the man who allegedly raped her five years ago was arrested Friday after she sprayed a house with bullets, authorities said.
Jayna Maria Devecchio, 39, of 3312 Holly Springs Drive in Spring Hill, was charged with second-degree attempted murder. She was being held at the Hernando County Jail without bond as of Saturday.
Deputies said Devecchio arrived at the home at 1294 Malone Ave. and knocked on the door.
The resident, Miguel Cruz, came to the door and noticed Devecchio was carrying a gun, according to an arrest affidavit.
He declined to answer the door and the woman walked back to her car. He then came outside to try and get a license plate number when she opened fire, deputies said.
She fired four to six rounds and barely missed Cruz, according to the affidavit. The bullets hit the house, garage and vehicle in the driveway.
Devecchio told detectives she went to the residence to find a man named "Anthony." She alleged he had raped her five or six years ago and believed he lived at the property, deputies said.
She also told authorities she did not know Cruz was standing outside when she fired the gun.
