Attempted Arson Reported Friday

BROOKSVILLE - BROOKSVILLE - A local fire marshal said he is investigating an attempted arson of a single-wide mobile home.
The homeowner, whose name was not released, arrived at his residence Friday afternoon and smelled smoke, said Fire Marshall Richard Tincher.
The suspect forcibly entered the home, located at 6250 Boatwright Road, and attempted to set the interior on fire with a rag and a lighter, he said.
There were no traces of gasoline, Tincher said.
Damage was confined to the rug and some plywood inside the house.
No injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
