BROOKSVILLE - The rainy season has begun, but watering restrictions will likely continue through September.
The Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board is expected to vote today on whether to continue the once-per-week watering restrictions that have been in effect since January of last year and extended three times since then.
Staff at the water management district will recommend that the board continue the restrictions through Sept. 30 because of low river, lake and groundwater levels, according to a press release from the district Monday.
The meeting is slated for 9 a.m. at the district's Brooksville headquarters, 2379 Broad St.
