Sara L. Swiger, 83, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at her home. She was born in Grafton, W.Va., and came to this area 30 years ago from Dearborn, Mich.
Mrs. Swiger was a homemaker and attended the Salvation Army Ladies meeting in Brooksville.
Survivors include her son, Larry A. of Spring Hill; brother, Harry May of Arkansas; sister, Evelyn Fisher, of Indiana; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Niles Short, 68, of Spring Hill, died Monday, June 2, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was born in Ashland, Wisc., and moved to the area six years ago.
Mr. Short owned and operated his own trucking company. Later in life and his wife started Midwest Lighting Company in Chippewa Falls, Wisc.
Survivors include his wife, Cherl; sons, Dallas and Marion, both of Eau Claire, Wisc., Thomas of Bloomer, Wisc., and Joshua, of Madison, Wisc.; daughter, Nileen Gallagher, of Mondovi, Wisc.; sisters, Marlene Rekedal, of Osakis, Minn., Dana Howard, of Chippewa Falls, and Carol Coffman, of Haines City; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Frank Benak, 78, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, June 19, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Inverness. He was born in Blandburg, Pa., and moved to the area four years ago from South Plainfield, N.J.
Mr. Benak was a machine tender for a paper manufacturing company. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Ida; sons, Frank, of South Plainfield, and Steve and Dean, both of Florida; daughter, Hannah Wragg, of Florida; brother, Wendell Jr., of Ohio; sisters, Edna Adamcik, of North Carolina, and Margie Levchek, of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

Harold Rivera, 54, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, June 17, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and came here 15 years ago from Tampa.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Catholic by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Blanca of Spring Hill; two sons, Jonathan of Spring Hill and Gabriel of Tennessee; three grandchildren; five sisters: Hilda, Miriam, Evelyn, Janet, Nellie; two brothers, Tito and Irving; and his parents, Jorge and Aida Rivera.

June K. Luckenbaugh, 82, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, June 17, at her home. She was born in York, Pa., and moved to this area 26 years ago from York.
Mrs. Luckenbaugh was a homemaker and a member of Hillside Community Baptist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include five sons, Paul C. Knotts of Dillsburg, Pa., James W. Knotts of Fredericksburg, Va., Jack W. Knotts and Clyde W. Nase, both of Brooksville, and Larry L. Nase of Orlando; a sister, Phylis Fullen of Brooksville; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Larry A. Meister, 62, of Weeki Wachee, died Friday, June 13.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; a son, Corey; and five grandchildren.

Bessie Franklin, 80, of Spring Hill, died Monday, June 16, at her home. She was born in New Haven, Conn., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Miami.
Mrs. Franklin worked in telephone repair for the AT&T Company. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Happy Hearts of St. Theresa's Church, Telephone Pioneers of America and American Legion Auxiliary Post 186.
She is survived by her son, John A. Franklin of Miami.

Luther Roy Williams, 31, of Brooksville, died Thursday, June 12.
Mr. Williams was born in Flint, Mich., and moved to this area a year ago.
Survivors include his mother, Diane Williams of Brooksville; a brother, Michael J. Williams of New Port Richey; maternal grandmother, Norma Burns of Fort Myers; and two nieces.

James G. "Jim" Schmidt, 50, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, June 17, at his home. He was born in Newark, N.J., and moved to this area two years ago from Brooklyn, New York.
Mr. Schmidt was a cake decorator for Ruthie's Bakery and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include four brothers, George Schmidt of Englishtown, N.J., Walter Schmidt of Fort Lauderdale, Richard Schmidt of Bricktown, N.J., and Martin Schmidt of Pine Beach, N.J.; and two sisters, Therese Watkins of Spring Hill and Elizabeth McCrea of Bloomfield, N.J.
