BROOKSVILLE - The 22-year-old driver of a car that crashed on Mariner Boulevard Monday, claiming the life of a young mother, remained in critical condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Joshua L. Roeder, of the 16000 block of Fullington Drive in Brooksville, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa after the accident. Dana Lyons, 20, of Spring Hill, died at the scene. Lyons's 1-year-old son Owen, who also was in the car, suffered minor injuries.
Roeder was driving a 1998 Chevy Lumina north on Mariner near Case Grande Circle at about 2:15 a.m. when he lost control, according to an FHP report released late Wednesday. The car slid across the median and struck a block wall on the west side of the road, the report states.
