BROOKSVILLE Hernando Today is seeking vendors for its upcoming Opportunity 2008 Hernando County Job Fair to be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in Heffernan Hall of St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 20428 Cortez Blvd. Early registration rate is $89. Health Department To Host Back-To-School Immunization Marathon
SPRING HILL Hernando County Health Department will host a back-to-school "Immunization Marathon" from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 21-25, at its Spring Hill clinic located at 7465 Forest Oaks Blvd. Back-to-school immunizations require a parent or guardian to be present with identification and the child's shot records. Appointments can be made by calling 352-540-6800 Ext. 82045, or walk-ins are welcome. Recommended childhood immunizations work to protect children from illnesses and death caused by infectious diseases. While the U.S. currently has record, or near record, low cases of vaccine-preventable diseases, the viruses and bacteria that cause them still exist. Medication Disposal Program Starts
BROOKSVILLE
Hernando County has started a new medication disposal program. Effective immediately, residents who want to get rid of their unwanted, non-narcotic prescriptions can take them to the Hernando County Northwest Solid Waste facility at 14450 Landfill Road in Brooksville. Participants will be required to dump their own medications and dispose of the bottles properly.
