Chocachatti Assistant Principal Wins Reading Award

BROOKSVILLE - Susan Wilson, former assistant principal at Chocachatti Elementary and current assistant principal for Eastside Elementary, was recently named the Region Four finalist for the 2008 Just Read, Florida! Elementary Literacy Leader of the Year.
She won the award for her successful implementation of districtwide reading initiatives and strategies at Chocachatti, where administrators do not have a reading coach on staff, officials said.
In addition to Hernando County, Region 4 includes Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Hardee, Sarasota, De Soto, Highlands, Charlotte, Glades, Lee, Hendry and Collier.
She was given a plaque and $250, and honored at an awards luncheon during the Just Read, Florida! Leadership Conference on July 1 in Orlando.
