Thank God, we no longer have to worry about the gas prices, the rise in food prices, getting good medical care we can afford or losing our homes. It is not really happening folks. It is all in our minds.
Phil Gramm, Sen. John McCain's economic guru and chief adviser, has told us it is a "mental recession" and we are only "a nation of whiners," imagining it all!" McCain, born on a military base with an admiral for a father has had government insurance coverage his whole life. Gramm is the guy responsible for setting up the sub-prime mortgages that are now failing and putting some of our neighbors out in the street – oops, forgot, we are only imagining all the empty, abandoned homes with the uncut lawns. My bad!
Almost every major bank and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are insolvent and we, the taxpayers, will get to bail them out like we have bailed out all the others deregulated by this inept, corrupt administration. Did you know that our illustrious, idiot president, Dubya, on leaving the G8 Conference, looked back at the dignitaries as he left and said, "Goodbye from the world's greatest polluter?" Ain't y'all proud?
McCain was asked by a media rep, "Do you think it's fair that Viagra is covered by insurance companies, but not birth control?" If you watch FOX News you did not see McCain's senile-like response – if you can call what he did a response! Try watching MSNBC for a change and you will see him actually place his hand over his face as he struggles for an answer that never comes! So I guess he approves of keeping old coots going, but disapproves of any protection for the females involved? Interesting point of view, don't you think?
He loves "free trade" too and fails to tell us that Communist China's economy is growing by 12 percent while the U.S. has benefited by 1 percent. Is McCain getting his paychecks from China or from us? When is the last time you bought an iron, a toaster, anything that said made in the U.S.A. and how many of us are out of work, with no hope for another job because of "free trade?"
Did you know that conservative Pat Buchanan says McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi?" Many of his fellow Republican senators say he's "too reckless" to be commander-in-chief, with one saying, "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."
This is from his own party folks, the guys and gals who know him best. So why does anyone of us think he will keep us safe? Because FOX News tells us so? McCain refuted Gramm's statement about the recession that threatens to grow to a depression being imaginary and moved him "back" but did not dismissed him. You know, many of you continue to vote in the people who are responsible for all your woes. What does it take to turn on that overhead light bulb?
You think the Republicans are the party that knows how to wage war? What the heck are you basing that on? We have had two major wars, both won with honor, with Democratic presidents in the White House. Name me one that was won by a sitting Republican.
Deregulation of vital environmental standards has created one disaster after another. For instance, how about how long it is taking to clean up the DPW site in Brooksville, a site full of potentially deadly pollution where families, children, may have already had their lives shortened by the water supply's toxicity. But it's not that big a deal since it exists in a mostly black, poor neighborhood, right?
They lie to all of us about the 8.2 million gallons of oil spilled from Katrina, while Gov. Charlie Crist and McCain and Bush push us to grant yet more leases to drill in the Gulf waters so Exxon/Mobile's stock values will go up. Your gas prices will not, however, go down! Anybody want to bet me that if Crist does not get the nod for the VP spot, his upcoming marriage will somehow run into a snag and be called off?
They are trying to convince you that Obama will raise your taxes. Well, if you are earning above $250,000 and currently only paying taxes on $90,000 of it, you're darn right that the amount you pay on under an Obama presidency is going to go up. Why should any average citizen or any out-of-work citizen in this country have an objection to this obviously fair taxation? The taxes, under Obama, for all of us average guys will go down.
Getting that light bulb yet?
