Detectives cracked several home burglary cases at once with the arrests of five teenagers Tuesday afternoon.
On July 2, two of the suspects broke into a house on Castille Drive and stole two laptops worth $1,600, a report shows.
On Monday night, two other suspects tried to break into three homes on Corydon Avenue and Kearney Street, but they scrapped their plans when they realized someone was home, a report states.
The cases were linked Tuesday when deputies spotted a car in a fast food restaurant drive-thru that had fled the scene of an attempted theft shortly before, the report shows.
Inside the car were some of the suspects in the unsolved cases and they ratted out their accomplices in interviews at the sheriff's District II headquarters, the report states.
Detectives also nabbed Johnny Williams, who is accused of trying to steal a dirt bike and gas can from a shed behind a house on Fawn Lane Tuesday.
Williams, 18, of Cammie Street in Brooksville, is charged with grand theft auto; the others, ages 16 and 17, are charged as juveniles with burglary of a structure.
