Oak Hill announces new medical staff officers

BROOKSVILLE Oak Hill Hospital has announced the election of its new medical staff officers. These officers include, Mallik Piduru, M.D., Chief of Staff; Anil Bhatia, M.D., Vice Chief of Staff; Fawzi Soliman, M.D., Chief of Surgery; Ganesh Chari, M.D., Chief of Medicine; and, Joel Nunag, M.D., Secretary/Treasurer.

The medical staff officers will serve for a two year term beginning June of 2008. Outgoing officers are: Mahmoud Nimer, M.D., who served as Chief of Staff from June 2006 to May 2008 and Vice Chair from June 2004 to May 2006. Jose Augustine, M.D., served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine from June 2006 to May 2008. The Medical Staff and Management Team at Oak Hill Hospital congratulate the new slate of officers and offer a profound "Thank You" to the outgoing officers.

Oak Hill seeks volunteer drivers for golf carts

BROOKSVILLE Oak Hill Hospital recently announced its Volunteer Association is seeking men and women who enjoy the outdoors and meeting people. Volunteers are needed to man the parking lot transportation vehicles that transport patients and families from their cars to the hospital's various entrances. Applicants will work in 4-hour shifts. Oak Hill Hospital opened its doors in 1986. Some of the volunteers who greeted patients at that time are still members of the Volunteer Association.

More than 400 volunteers have chosen to volunteer at Oak Hill Hospital and play a vital role in the caring for its patients. Oak Hill Hospital has been serving the Nature Coast since 1984. It is the largest medical facility in Hernando and Citrus counties (204 acute care beds) and offers Hernando County's only comprehensive heart program including open heart surgery.

Oak Hill appoints

Pierre Richard

Director of Education

SPRING HILL Oak Hill Hospital recently announced the appointment of Pierre Richard as director of education. He comes to Oak Hill Hospital from The Kingston Hospital in Kingston, N.Y., where he served as ICU Clinical Coordinator for two years. He also served as an adjunct clinical professor at State University of New York College in New Paltz, N.Y. He also worked at St. Francis Hospital for 19 years. Richard graduated from Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and received his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Nursing from SUNY College.

Budget Blinds of Spring Hill earned trip

SPRING HILL Lynda Morrison, owner of Budget Blinds of Spring Hill, recently was awarded a trip for two to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, due to the volume of sales her company did in 2007 with one of its top manufactures, Kathy Ireland Home by Alta. Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope promotes Debbi White

SPRING HILL The Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope recently announced the promotion of Debbi White to office manager of its County Line Road Center at 11063 County Line Road. Prior to her promotion, White served as clinical research data coordinator in the Clinical Research Department at Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope's New Port Richey Center. White has been employed at Florida Cancer Institute-New Hope since November 2006. Oak Hill's Nunag elected president of

local society

BROOKSVILLE Oak Hill Hospital recently announced a member of its medical staff, Dr. Clemente Nunag, was elected president of the Philippine Medical Society of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter. Nunag's term began in June 2008 and will extend through May 2010. He was officially inducted during the society's Induction Ball, which took place Saturday, June 7, at Hyatt Regency Tampa The Philippine Medical Society was founded 30 years ago by Dr. Jose Galvez, Jr. with a handful of members who started the tradition of establishing fellowship amongst Filipino physicians.

These physicians were united in the common goal of acquiring the highest levels of medical knowledge and skills, through continued medical education. Nunag was the second physician to open a practice on the west side of Hernando County. He has been a member of the Oak Hill Hospital medical staff since its inception. He is now joined in practice by his two sons, Drs. Joel Nunag and Randolph Nunag.

Biz Vision '08 will offer free business advice Wednesday

HERNANDO BEACH The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon, Networking at Noon, from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Bare Bones Fish and Steak House.
