SPRING HILL - Starbucks is scaling back.
It is not known whether any of the stores in Hernando County will be among the casualties.
There is a "For Rent" sign posted on the new building located at Northcliffe Boulevard at Mariner Boulevard, but no Starbucks sign. There have been no announcements regarding whether the barista is opting out of its grand opening.
A company spokeswoman would not comment Wednesday.
Last year, two Starbucks opened in Hernando County – one at 19348 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville and another at 13168 Cortez Blvd. at the Coastal Way Shopping Center.
The coffee giant announced this week it would close 600 of its "underperforming" stores nationwide.
An announcement on store closings is expected in a few weeks.
