BROOKSVILLE - Three companies are relocating to Hernando County, adding approximately 24 more jobs to the area.
The Hernando County Office of Business Development made the announcement Thursday.
One of the companies making a move to the airport is Jet ICU, an air ambulance company previously based out of Clearwater.
"They're really the most fascinating," said Business Development spokeswoman Valarie Pianta. "If you wind up sick in a foreign country, they fly out and bring you back."
Jet ICU is currently leasing space at the airport while a new 15,000-square foot facility and hangar are being constructed. It is the only company moving or expanding in the area that uses airport's runways, Pianta said.
Another company moving to the county's largest industrial area is Seating Constructors USA, an industrial/commercial seating manufacturer and installer that expanded in size following the back-to-back major hurricane seasons from a few years ago, Pianta said.
Seating Constructors USA has moved from Pinellas County to 2347 Circuit Way in the airport corporate park.
Safe Sheds Inc., which manufactures high-strength, above-ground storm shelters, recently opened a new facility at 15315 Flight Path Drive.
Three more local companies are expanding or modifying their facilities. La Bella Sausage, Suncoast Plastics and Surge Suppression Inc., recently announced they are expanding.
La Bella and Surge Suppression are both located at the airport while Suncoast Plastics is located at 2080 Broad Street in Brooksville.
