The following are holiday letters that have been sent to the North Pole...
A New Family
Dear Santa Paws - I know you get a lot of requests for Christmas but I am hoping that you have time for one more. I would really like a family to love. They don't have to be rich or live in a fancy house. I don't care what they do for a living or what type of clothes they wear. I have no preference as to the kind of car they drive or if they have a car at all. It doesn't matter if they make mistakes or do embarrassing things sometimes. The family does not have to be perfect, in fact I prefer people with flaws and weaknesses so that my love and affection will make them feel better when they are down.
All I ask is that they be kind and remember to take care of me. I don't require much... feeding, walking, playtime, bathing, health checks, a warm clean place to sleep and love are my basic requirements. In return I will be faithful, loving, forgiving and entertaining. I have the best tail wag of all the dogs in the kennel. I have passed all of my obedience training classes and have a microchip so that I can always be found. For every ounce of love that I get I promise to give back 10 times the love I receive. I promise to always give more than I get, if you could just find me a family for Christmas.
If you could please find me a family you know that they would always be perfect in my eyes. Thank you for listening, I wait patiently.
Love, Topeka
Someone To Love Us
Dear Santa Paws - Could you please bring me and my friend the puurrrrfect present this Christmas? We lost our family and would like a new one if it is not too much trouble. We are 11 years old and I know that we are not cute kittens anymore, but we are now wise and mature. We do not scratch up furniture and have a lot of experience cuddling and lap warming. I know that there is someone out there who would love us both. Could you please find them for us? We keep each other company and are not very demanding. We have been good cats all year and this is the only gift I want for the holidays. Please?
Love, Tuxedo Cat
Make Me A Puppy Again
Dear Santa Paws - Last Christmas you gave me the most wonderful gift. Even though I was only a puppy and didn't know too many things you gave me a family that loved me and played with me all the time. It was lots of fun and I felt like the luckiest puppy in the whole world! For Christmas this year could you make me a puppy again? My family liked me better then.
I remember that they said I was the best Christmas present ever, but now they don't pay attention to me anymore. They are always too busy to play with me and I am always in their way. I know that I am not small anymore, but I still love them just like I did last Christmas. I just want them to love me like they did last year. I think that if I was still a puppy my family would love me again. I am lonely and sad so much. Do people only love puppies or do they just love puppies at Christmas? I want to be a puppy again. That is my Christmas wish.
