BROOKSVILLE - Mark your calendars. Hernando County government has several meetings on tap:
•The Spring Hill Fire Rescue District will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 3445 Bob Hartung Ct., Spring Hill.

•The Hernando County Utilities Department and Citizens for Water invites the public to the second session of the 2008-09 Hernando County Water Awareness series from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 12 at the Hernando County Utilities Department, 21030 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville.
Light refreshments will be served.
The topic is, "Avoiding the Most Common Landscaping Mistakes" and will be presented by Jim Moll, horticulture agent with the IFAS Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service.
The public will learn tips for accomplishing a successful landscape maintenance plan, including proper watering, fertilizing, mowing, plant selection, planting and pruning.

•The Hernando County Personnel Advisory Board will meet at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 in the county commissioners' meeting room, first floor, Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main Street, Brooksville.
The meeting is open to the public.

•The Hernando County Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.16 in the John Law Ayers county commission chambers, at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.
The purpose of this public hearing is to review a proposed Public Involvement Process and Long Range Transportation Plan.
The public is encouraged to attend.
